Web Payroll System (WPS)

Designed and develop a web-based payroll and timesheet management system (WPS) to be used by 7000 people. Used UML and “The Unified Software Development Process”.

WPS Thin Client

  • Used DHTML and client-side JavaScript for IE 5.0 or later.

WPS Middle-Tier

  • Designed the middle-tier component with UML and Rational Rose, and object-oriented methodology.

  • Used JSP for all presentation level logic.

  • Developed Enterprise Java Beans (Entity Beans and Session Beans) for all business and data logic.

  • Used IBM WebSphere 4.0 on Linux with Borland JBuilder 5.0/6.0 as the IDE on Windows 2000.

  • Deployed the J2EE application on IBM OS/390 running Linux as a virtual instance.

WPS Testing and Test Plan Document

  • Prepared a full test plan document for WPS with test cases covering positive and negative testing.

  • Performed formal testing of WPS based on this test plan.

WPS Integration with IBM OS/390 Mainframe

  • Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) at data-level with an IBM CICS mainframe.

  • Developed batch programs in Java to integrated and synchronize data with IBM mainframe.
