Providian Financial

Providian ranks as the fifth largest bankcard provider in the nation with $27 billion in assets under management and serves over 14 million customers in United States, UK, and Argentina.

Payment Management System (iSmart):

System designed by Diyatech to handle all electronic customer payments. Diyatech provided requirements capture, analysis, design, development, and testing services to Providian. We also transferred knowledge about the project and technologies to Providian's technical staff. System had 10,000 users and consists of a Web based OLTP system and a Backend batch processing system. Development was done using DHTML, Javascript, IE 5.0 as client-tier, ASP, COM, MTS components, XML, ADO, and Oracle 8i as backend-tiers. Application integration with a CICS Mainframe done with EAI technologies. Backend batch processing system developed in Java and processed millions of transactions running on Solaris.

Customer Management System (Smartscreens):

Diyatech designed this system to manage customer accounts and quickly service incoming calls from customers and prospects. Special emphasis placed on quick functions, scalability and easily maintainability. Diyatech provided requirements capture, system architecture, development, testing and deployment to 1200 users in three different cities. System provided a complete call-center solution with Managed Desktop Envrionement, CTI Enabling, and Monitoring, Analysis, and Management Tools. System developed in C++, Visual Basic, COM, Informix, and CICS Mainframe working together seamlessly. Closely integrated with ACD used by IVR to increase phone throughput.

Order Management and Fulfillment System (PES):

System developed to manage orders on all add-on products for Providian. Included both front-end and back-end systems to automate the entire order management process. Developed with Visual Basic, ODBC, and Informix DBMS on SUN machines. Designed to handle large number of transactions. Provided requirements capture, analysis, design, development, and testing services. System consisted of Front-end program to take orders thru Customer Management System and a Back-end system. The Backend system included telemarketing lead management, billing customers on a CICS Mainframe, interfacing with plastics vendors for plastics generation, and fulfillment of orders.
