Intranet e-Collaboration Portal

The purpose of this portal was to allow people from different departments to have a common place to view company and department information. Additionally, this portal allowed people to share documents with each other. Following features were provided in this portal:

  • User security based on users and groups available in Windows NT environment
  • Provide a top-level Team View
  • Allow teams to create custom topics and add documents to each of them.
  • Provide the ability to check-in and check-out a document for joint sharing.
  • Publish a document and determine who is allowed to view and/or edit it.
  • Allow the ability to search the portal for any documents.
  • Support Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and PDF documents types.

Used Microsoft Sharepoint Portal Server for this project. Customized its ASP pages and various other areas to meet customer requirements.
